ESTABLISHMENT The Taxation Circle Office Saiha is initially established and organized as Unit Office on 1.4.1994. The Unit Office was headed by Inspector of Taxes and Designated as Officer – in – charge, under the control Superintendent of Taxes Lunglei District. The Unit Office Saiha was reorganized and up grated to the Circle Office on 15.9.200. The Asst. Commissioner of Taxes, Lunglei zone is the Controlling Officer of the Circle Office, headed by Inspector of Taxes designated as Officer-in-Charge.
STRUCTURE The strength of Taxation Circle Office is as follows.

LAND & BUILDING The Taxation Circle Office Saiha has a land of 1147sqmtrs. and constructed three Assam type building in the year 1993 viz. one no. of type –III and two nos. of type –I for the staff quarters. Since the Office building is nor yet constructed, one of the same is occupied for Circle Office till date.
NATURE of Works The nature of works of Circle Office Saiha are :-

  1. Collection of Sales :- i). Sales Tax ii). MPGT iii). Entertainment tax.
  2. Verification and inspection of account registered dealers under Mizoram Sales tax Act & Central Sale Tax Act.
  3. Verification and inspection of account of Cable Television Operators and various entertainment organized in the District from time to time.
  4. Verification and inspection of taxable vehicles.
  5. Verification of Societies for Registration under Societies Registration ( Extended to Mizoram) Act, 1976.
ACHIEVEMENT The achievement of the Circle Office Saiha are as follows :- 1.Total No. of Firm registration under Mizoram Sales tax Act, 1989. -9
2 Total No. of Society registered under Societies Central Sales Tax Act, 1956 -6
3 Total No. of Societies registered under Sopcieties Registration(Extended to Mizoram) Act, 1976 -10
4 Mobile checking on taxable vehicles has been conducted quarterly.
5.Books of Accounts of registered dealers under Mizoram Sales tax Act, and Central Sales Tax Act are checked from time to time
` 6.Regular cheking on books of Account of cable television operators within Saiha, District have been conducted.
