Wecome to Saiha District !

MESSAGE FROM DEPUTY COMMISSIONER

Thian Te U, Chibai U

The development of the website of the district is a major step towards public participation in governance processes. The new website is expected to serve as a platform for a meaningful interaction between the district administration and a common man. The goal of the district administration is to upload as many plans, works, schemes and other information as possible. The development of the website passed through many critical stages in which the role of the DIO, Saiha is quite commendable. Particularly, I would like to appreciate the hard work done by Pu Arun Jyoti Das, Scientific Officer, who has put in lots of efforts even outside office hours. This website is also expected to serve as a window into the wonderful culture & history of the “Maras” and other tribes living here. We have been trying to put interesting photos and write-ups on the socio-cultural aspects of the district. With the intent of the internet whole world has become a global village and the flow of information leads to the cultural and social integration of different communities. This also marks the integration of this district into the IT map of India and this feat is achieved despite of many infrastructural bottlenecks like problem of servers, low speed of internet through V-sat and broadband connections. The next level of the website would be e-governance i.e delivery of services through internet and e-commerce i.e. enabling people to sell their products through district portal. For this purpose suggestion of users are invited. Finally, I expect people of this wonderful district and the nation as a whole to own up the website and give their valuable feedbacks for its continuous improvement.
